Daniel Van Gessel, DC, CCSP

Dr. Daniel Van Gessel has been helping restore people to better health since 1984. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician certified by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians since 1996. He is also advanced certified in Activator Methods. He specializes in the detection and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries in individuals of all ages.

Adam T. Van Gessel, D.C.

Family is extremely important to Dr. Adam which is why he has focused his education and career on the chiropractic care of all age.

In 2011, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While earning his Doctorate of Chiropractic, he also was the recipient of honors by receiving a certification of merit in Diagnosis, Clinical Assisting, Chiropractic Techniques and Radiology. In addition, he is a member of both the Michigan Association of Chiropractors and the American Chiropractic Association. He received his postgraduate proficiency rating in Activator Methods in April 2011 and his Advanced proficiency rating in Activator Methods in April 2012. He also received his NBCE board certification in physiotherapy.

Prior to attending Palmer, Dr. Adam received his Bachelors of Science degree at Aquinas College where he majored in Chemistry with a minor in physics. While at Aquinas he was awarded the Spectrum Monsignor Bukowski Honor Scholarship, the Dr. John Poje Memorial Scholarship for leadership in chemistry and the Outstanding Physics student for 2006.

Dr. Adam and his wife, Kellie, met in undergraduate school and married in the summer of 2007. They both love living in the great state of Michigan and enjoying all there is to offer.

Colleen E. O'Hara, D.C.

Dr. Colleen O’Hara is the newest doctor at Family Chiropractic Healthcare Center, located on Plainfield Avenue in Grand Rapids. Dr. O’Hara believes in a balanced approach to healthcare and works with her patients to determine the best way to heal and/or maintain health. She entered the field of chiropractic medicine because she believes in the power of holistic healing while maintaining the perspective that other types of medicine are necessary and important. Dr. O’Hara strives to build a trusting relationship with each patient, tailoring care to his or her individual needs.

An alumnus of Michigan State University, Dr. O’Hara earned her Bachelor of Science in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science. In 2017, she graduated from of Palmer College of Chiropractic. She has completed her postgraduate advanced proficiency rating in Activator Methods, a certification in Thompson Technique, and a certification in Kinesiotaping.

Dr. O’Hara became interested in a future career in Chiropractic medicine while she was a patient herself. Dr. O’Hara kept active on the Rockford High School swim team and water polo team and continued to play water polo at Michigan State. As a life long athlete, chiropractic care helped keep her body healthy and prevented injury.

Outside of Family Chiropractic Healthcare Center, you can find Dr. O’Hara spending time with her family and friends, exercising, boating, or spending time on the beach of Lake Michigan.
